In our caring work, honoring the particular story and circumstances of those we serve is a core value. But it can be easier said than done. Stories evoke stories, and we can see ourselves or our own families in the lives of those we serve. Some of the people we serve will be challenging, while others will be familiar and attractive to us. Respectful boundary setting is a constant task for caring work. In this practical workshop, participants will be given perspectives and tools for respectful boundary maintenance in faith community settings. Case studies and ample time for questions and discussion will be included.
