Young adults are an important part of the Church. Being in community and getting to know other Lutherans can help you grow in your faith and feel more connected.
Gather Twin Cities

Gather Twin Cities is a Lutheran (ELCA) ministry for those who are hungry for community and connection with other young adults in the metro area. Regardless of who you are or what you bring into this space, they are setting the table for you to create authentic relationships and to experience community with other young adults. Young adults will get connected with one another and ministries in the Twin Cities, as well as have a place of rest and rejuvenation in the whirlwind of life.
Gather is LGBTQIA+ affirming and eagerly invites siblings of any sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression into full leadership and participation.
Invite your friends, neighbors, co-workers, family. Gather is a ministry made for young adults, which is loosely define as ages 19 – 35, but those boundaries are simply meant to clarify, never exclude. All are welcome.
The Gather Network is a ministry of ELCA Young Adults that connects young adults in cities or regions throughout the ELCA.
Lutheran Campus Ministry – Twin Cities
Lutheran Campus Ministry – Twin Cities (LCM-TC) serves the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities Campus and surrounding colleges. This word and sacrament ministry welcomes, gathers, equips, and sends students trusting that, through these young adults, the Spirit is active in transforming the campus and the world. Grounded in Christ’s love and mercy, LCM-TC values hospitality, service, justice, integrity, and curiosity.
ELCA Campus Ministries exist across the country at state colleges, universities and private schools. The network of ministries (also called LuMin) seeks to welcome, affirm, and accept all students in Christ’s name. Through LuMin, the ELCA offers a presence at more than 180 state and private colleges and universities with cooperating congregations in campus ministry at an additional 400 campuses nationwide. You can connect your young adult with a ministry near them here.
ELCA Young Adult Ministry

The Young Adult Ministry of the ELCA offers inspiration, opportunities, and resources for young adults (18 – 35) and for people who facilitate young adult ministry in their communities of faith.
The ELCA is expanding its vision of what it means to be church and what it means to engage a population of young adults who are seeking authentic community and opportunities to serve their neighbors.
Abide serves as a ministry of ELCA Young Adult Ministries. ELCA YA is a program of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s churchwide office and cooperates with several ministries such as Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM), Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC), Dream Chasers United, Campus Ministry, and more. Abide also offers small groups and Bible studies for young adults.
Young Adults in Global Mission
The ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM) program invites ELCA young adults ages 21 – 35 into a transformative, year-long journey in international service. As they offer themselves in service, ELCA young adults are shaped by the witness of our global neighbors. They share in the journeys of companion churches and organizations in one of our many country programs.
A year of service through the Young Adults in Global Mission program invites young adults to become the hands and feet of Jesus in the world, providing critical support to ministries and projects in communities of need. It also invites volunteers into a journey of self-reflection, providing space to consider their sense of identity, God’s work in the world, and their place within it all.
Are You Called to Public Leadership in the Church?
As Lutheran Christians we believe that all the baptized are called to serve God in the church and the world. God blesses each of us with gifts and calls us to serve in a wonderful variety of ways.
Some of the baptized sense that God is calling them to a vocation of public leadership in the church. If you want to explore such a calling, or have sensed a nudging to explore the possibility, we are here to walk with you. First, please contact Peg Ihinger to schedule a conversation.
