The Glenwood House is a recently completed duplex in the Harrison neighborhood of North Minneapolis, built by Redeemer Lutheran Church and volunteer labor. It’s not just a house, though. It’s part of a greater vision, called the Northside Leadership Project. This project will co-house some of the neighborhood’s young people, alongside current students and recent college & seminary graduates. Living together will provide the mentoring and modeling of a responsible, independent life.
Trevon, a recent graduate of North High School and an all-around amazing guy, is one of the young people participating in the project this upcoming year. Over the past few years Trevon (pictured above) has taken on a number of leadership roles at Redeemer – serving as an assistant youth director; being mentored by (and rapping with) AGAPE*; working at the Venture North Bike & Coffee Shop; teaching Sunday School—and now, thanks to your support, he’ll be transitioning into adulthood knowing that he has stable housing and community, right across the street from the church he loves.
