2:00 – 4:30 p.m.
Shalom Hill Farm
42194 County Road 3, Windom, Minnesota

At 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, the public is invited to Shalom Hill Farm to celebrate and dedicate a new worship service Peace on the Prairie, prayers, and updated facilities with refreshments to follow. A walking dedication of the Labyrinth, Prayer Trails, and Swing Circle will be held at 2:00 pm in advance of the service.

The Shalom Hill Farm Prairie Spirituality Project’s creative team, Rev. Meta Harrick Carlson of Minneapolis (liturgist, poet, and author) and Carol Meier of New London (composer and liturgist), wrote the original liturgies, prayers, poems, and music. This program was made possible through a Vital Worship Grant from the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship, Grand Rapids, Michigan, using funds provided by Lilly Endowment inc., with additional support provided by Shalom Hill Farm donors, volunteers, and staff.

Founded in 1992 by Lutheran pastors Mark and Margaret Yackel-Juleen, Shalom Hill Farm has served and hosted groups of all denominations and community organization from the five-state region, focusing on supporting rural ministry and culture. Shalom Hill Farms mission statement reads, “In response to God’s grace and God’s call, Shalom Hill Farm educates and advocates on behalf of small-town and rural culture, community, ministry, God’s creation, the common good, and provides a place of retreat and renewal for groups and individuals.”
