O LORD my God, I cried out to you…you brought me up from the dead, you restored my life. (Psalm 30)

Trusting in the risen Christ, we believe that God brings life from death and turns our mourning into dancing!

The past few years have tested our faith in unexpected ways. Together with our keynote speaker, the Rev. Otis Moss III, we will reflect on our hurting world and the fears within us. Renewed in the promise and presence of God, we will grow in the “spiritual lessons for thriving in turbulent times” (from his Dancing in the Darkness).


Thank you for joining us for this annual gathering of our synod. Through worship, learning, fellowship, and faithful deliberation on church matters, we renewed our relationships with God and one another.

Worship on Friday evening was held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie. Worship was followed by a festive reception and time for fellowship at the church.

Plenary sessions on Saturday were held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Ramsey. Voting members and visitors went deeper into the restoring love of God in Christ, and conducted the important business of the church.

Featuring our keynote,
Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III

With civil rights advocacy in his DNA, Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III built his ministry on community advancement and social justice activism. As Senior Pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Moss spent the last two decades practicing and preaching a Black theology that unapologetically calls attention to the problems of mass incarceration, environmental justice, and economic inequality.

Marie Anne Sliwinski

As our Churchwide Representative.
MarieAnne is the Senior Director of Building Resilient Communities at ELCA Churchwide. MarieAnne also helped us raise some funds for the Lutheran University Nigeria in 2022. Building Resilient Communities is the collaboration of ELCA World Hunger and Lutheran Disaster Response. Sliwinski has worked in international humanitarian and development programs for over 15 years.
