Principle Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Regularly meet with church staff and Family Minister to plan and coordinate strategic church plans, schedules, and visions of the church.
  • Regularly communicate and coordinate studies, events and schedules with the Family Ministry Team.
  • Give direction to and oversee the Middle School and High School youth ministry by:
  • Leading Sunday morning youth worship service with an emphasis on message delivery.
  • Identifying the needs and interests of teens within the church and community.
  • Planning and developing programs for the youth ministry.
  • Effectively promoting youth events and studies by updating various forms of media: email, social media, texting services, church website, etc.
  • Evaluating existing programs to determine effectiveness.

  • Meet monthly with youth ministry leaders to pray, discuss upcoming events, challenges, solutions and praises.

  • Participate in outreach ministry to youth who have visited and regularly attend the church through visits, letters, programs, attending school sporting and artistic events, etc.
  • Plan youth retreats for the purpose of spiritual edification.
  • Regularly participate and occasionally preach in Sunday Worship Services as requested, most notably on the first Sunday of each month.
  • Visit youth who are hospitalized and follow-up with families accordingly.

JOB OVERVIEW
The Bilingual Service Associate will serve to create a welcoming and caring culture, through compassion and exceptional customer service, for all who come to CES. This position works closely with our Food Market program to help neighbors in need, assist volunteers, and helps to support the daily functions of CES’ programs and staff. This job requires good relational and organization skills, Spanish and English fluency, and the ability to prioritize tasks and be a creative problem solver.

He or she must be able to uphold the rules while also knowing when to follow the “spirit” of the rules when it is in the best interest of the client and CES. If successful, this person will make a tremendous impact on every person who steps through our doors, helping to grow the mission of CES.

KEY FUNCTIONS, SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reception/Welcoming Culture:
• Be the first point of contact with neighbors accessing the Food Market
• Provide exceptional customer service through in-person, phone, and email communication
• Providing interpretation between Spanish-speaking clients and other staff or volunteers as necessary
• Schedule appointments, conduct intakes, and enroll clients into the Food Market; help explain processes and manage expectations
• Perform database entry and maintenance, including program, client, and volunteer data

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES
• Self-managed and self-directed, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, engaged in the work of CES, and able to take responsibility for explicitly assigned tasks and ask for help and support when needed
• Committed to serving neighbors in our community with empathy and compassion, and able to implement policy and be assertive when necessary
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (in-person, over the phone, and by email) in both English and Spanish. Knowledge or experience with other languages is a plus
• Experience and ability to work patiently, respectfully, and productively with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures; the ability to work with vulnerable people and people who have experienced trauma is essential in this position
• Excellent organization skills, detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks
• Able to maintain client confidentiality and handle sensitive information in an appropriate manner
